It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

That it took up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was out Australia required another 66 at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.
